Guided Fishing 路 Hopedale Saltwater & Freshwater
Bent rods in the Hopedale marsh.
Hopedale is some of the best inshore fishing in Louisiana, and it's where I fish for redfish and speckled trout. I also guide freshwater trips for bass and sac-a-lait, from a kayak or right from the bank. You just show up and fish. Boat trips are coming soon.

Why fish with me
I know these waters
The marsh changes with every tide and wind shift. I fish Hopedale all the time, so I know where the fish are holding.
Always on time
The early bite doesn't wait, and neither do I. I'm ready to go when you get there.
Veteran-owned
I'm a proud U.S. Army veteran. Safety, preparation, and being on time come standard on every trip.
Built on referrals
Most of my trips are booked by people who heard about it from someone who fished with me. A lot of them come back.
All skill levels
First time holding a rod or been fishing for 40 years? I'll make sure you have a great day.
Kayak or bank
Fish the way you like. I'll paddle along on a kayak or set up on the bank with you. Boat trips are coming soon.
Ways to fish
Hopedale inshore
Saltwater trips in the Hopedale marsh for redfish, speckled trout, and more, by kayak or from the bank. This is where the big inshore action is.
Boat trips Coming soon
Hopedale marsh and freshwater trips in my boat, including one-on-one bass boat trips for bass and sac-a-lait. I'm finishing my U.S. Coast Guard captain's license and insurance first.
Eco tours Coming soon
Guided trips through the marsh and bayous to see the wildlife, birds and scenery. Coming once my boat licensing is in place.
Kayak fishing
Quiet, up close, and a ton of fun. I'll paddle along with you and put you on fish in spots big boats can't reach.
Bank fishing
No boat needed. I'll come out with you to the bank, show you where to cast, and help you hook up.

What to expect
- Book your date and tell me who's coming, what you want to catch, and whether you want saltwater or freshwater, and kayak or bank.
- Get your fishing license online from LDWF before the trip. See which one you need.
- Meet me early at the dock in Hopedale or at the freshwater spot. I'll send you the exact location and time.
- Fish. Rods, reels, and bait are handled. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, drinks, and snacks. For kayak trips, we'll go over gear when you book.
- Head home with fish and a story to tell.
Hopedale is about 30 minutes from New Orleans in St. Bernard Parish.
Before your trip: get your fishing license
Everyone 16 and older needs a Louisiana fishing license, whether you live here or you're visiting from out of state. Buy it online before your trip and you'll get an authorization number right away, so you're ready to fish the moment we launch.
- Louisiana residents: a basic fishing license. Add the saltwater license for Hopedale trips.
- Out-of-state visitors: a non-resident fishing license. Add the saltwater license for Hopedale trips.
- Freshwater trips (bass, sac-a-lait, catfish): the basic license covers you.
Licenses are sold by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF). Not sure which one you need? Call or text me and I'll help.
